Tender for power plant and desal plant in Oman

Centralised Utilities Company has sought a consultant for engineering and project management of a combined cycle power plant and seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant in Duqm Special Economic Zone

Oman's Centralised Utilities Company (CUC) has sent out a tender to consiltants for engineering and project management of a combined cycle power plant and seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant in Duqm Special Economic Zone.

CUC intends to design, build, own and operate the facility for the supply of utilities to Oman Oil Company affiliates' investments in the economic zone.

The project covers the ownership, development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a greenfield combined cycle power plant of approximately 300 megawatts of gross power generation capacity based on N+1 configuration as a minimum and a greenfield sewater desalination plant of approximately 8-8.5 million imperial gallons per day of net water production capacity.

The facility is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2018.
