Dubai's Enoc Group makes two senior appointments
'Enoc veterans' Dr. Eng. Waddah Shihab Ghanem and Eng. Hesham Ali Mustafa named executive directors
The Dubai Government-owned Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has announced the appointment of two senior executives.
Dr. Eng. Waddah Shihab Ghanem has been appointed as executive director of EHSSQ & Corporate Affairs.
Eng. Hesham Ali Mustafa is now executive director - Group Strategy and New Business Development.
ENOC in a statement says that both the executives are ‘veterans’, having been part of the Group for more than 16 years.
“I am very pleased to be announcing these two well-deserved appointments, which represent a huge step forward for ENOC’s expansion plans,” Saif Humaid Al Falasi, ENOC Group CEO, said of the two appointments. “Both their skills and backgrounds are exceptional and I am positive they are well positioned to undertake their new key responsibilities and support our growth plans of being an international integrated oil & gas player.”
In his new capacity, Ghanem will oversee the development and implementation of best practices and standards for EHS, business excellence & quality, sustainability, security and risk management as well as wellness and social affairs. He will also oversee the group’s legal affairs and the development and implementation of the ENOC Group communications strategy to support commercial growth and strategic positioning.
In July 2015, Ghanem completed a DBA in EHS Leadership & Governance focusing on high risk organisations across the GCC. His research was sponsored by ENOC.
Ghanem is an environmental engineer graduated from the University of Wales College Cardiff’s School of Engineering. He is an experienced engineering professional with expertise in matters related to technical, Environment, Health, Safety & Quality (EHSQ), operational excellence, governance and compliance.
Prior to this appointment, Ghanem was ENOC’s Director of Group EHSQ Compliance since January 2010 and has held several positions in that field through his ENOC career which started in the first refinery in Dubai, EPCL.
Mustafa’s expertise in the energy sector spans Corporate Planning, Strategic Management, International Networking and Business Development. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and implementing ENOC Group’s strategy in alignment with the Government of Dubai’s strategic goals.
He will also be overseeing ENOC’s global upstream, midstream and downstream activities with a focus on developing and implementing sustainable strategies that achieve recurring growth to ENOC’s bottom line.
Mustafa has over 18 years of industry experience. He started his career in 1997 working with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and later joined ENOC Processing Company in 2001. He then moved to join Emirates Gas (EMGAS) in 2002 and took charge of EMGAS management in 2005, where he played a strategic role in driving the company’s expansion.
Mustafa graduated from the Dubai Men’s Higher Colleges of Technology in Civil Engineering.
