Restrata names new VP to lead technology division
A former soldier in the British Army, David Nicholls brings experience of working in some of the eastern hemisphere's most challenging emerging markets for public and private sector organisations
Restrata, the safety and security consultancy and training services provider, has appointed David Nicholls as vice president of situational awareness and telematics to head up the firm’s technology division in Dubai.
A former Infantry Captain with the British Army, Nicholls brings experience of working in some of the eastern hemisphere’s most challenging emerging markets for public and private sector organisations.
In his previous role as head of sales and marketing for MiX Telematics in Dubai, he helped diversify the business away from its core oil and gas market and into new sectors such as the supply chain segment.
He also helped to grow the organisation’s international footprint, establishing business links across the MENA region, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
Nicholls has spent his professional career, since the UK Armed Forces, in the technology domain, through business development positions at Track24 and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in the UK.
Nicholls will lead a team of sales, channel management and technical industry experts delivering products and services that will look to provide a reliable connection between people, property and equipment in some of the world’s most complex and hostile markets. This includes 24/7 global tracking, incident response and fleet optimisation technologies.
Commenting on his appointment, Nicholls said: “I am honoured and excited to take on this challenging new role. This is a very exciting time for Restrata and I look forward to the opportunity to co-ordinate our efforts across the globe to ensure we continue to deliver cost-effective safety and security services to our clients.”
