Eaton, Manchester City Football Club sign deal
Power management company brings popular football company on board to endorse xStorage Home energy storage system, as part of a multi-year deal
Power management company Eaton has announced it has become the official home energy storage partner of Manchester City Football Club in the UK.
The multi-year deal reflects the club’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, Eaton stated in a press release sent to arabianoilandgas.com.
The partnership marks the launch of a limited edition of Eaton’s xStorage Home, a reliable and affordable residential energy storage systems on the market today.
Using Eaton’s leading power quality technology and electronics combined with second life or new electric vehicle (EV) batteries from vehicle manufacturer Nissan, the system will offer customers greater energy independence and control.
The technology enables customers to increase their use of renewable energy and lower energy bills by up to 50%.
When connected to residential power supply and/or renewable energy sources, the unit helps save money on electricity bills by charging up when renewable energy is available or energy is cheaper and releasing that stored energy when demand and costs are high.
The system works optimally when used alongside solar panels – storing energy when the sun is shining and releasing it when needed to give users a greater return on their solar investment.
Partnering with one of the world’s most popular football clubs, Eaton will benefit from a joint marketing programme that reaches City fans throughout the world.
As one of the most widely followed sports globally, football offers a perfect medium to demonstrate the power of energy storage, building awareness of this clean technology with a huge audience.
As part of Eaton’s long term vision, this partnership between Eaton and Manchester City illustrates how the use of power management solutions and services can improve the quality of life and the environment.
Cyrille Brisson, EMEA Vice President at Eaton was quoted in the press release as saying: “At Eaton, we make what matters work. Aside from making power safe and reliable, it also needs to be sustainable to improve our overall quality of life and contribute to a better environment.
Energy storage is a key part of that strategy and part of Eaton’s ongoing commitment to reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. We’re proud to partner with Manchester City – a club that also supports our vision of a greener tomorrow.”
