Galfar Engineering and Contracting won a $16mn subcontract for Ras Markaz Crude Oil Park from China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corp.

Construction Week (CW), one of Oil & Gas Middle East's sister titles, reported that a statement on the Muscat Securities Market showed that the subscontract includes pre-site preparation, grading, levelling, earthworks, and blasting activities.

Galfar CEO Hans Erlings noted in the statement that he expects "reasonable income" from the project. The contract will be effective as of 20 August 2019, with an anticipated end date of 30 March 2020.

Ras Markaz Crude Oil Park will involve five phases of storage tank construction over an area of 12.5sqkm, and is expected to have a total capacity of 200mn barrels of oil, CW reported, citing ProTenders.
