Al Masaood Power unveils first-of-its-kind mobile electric power generator with MTU diesel genset
Latest solution has been developed for emergencies and aligns with DEWA’s long-term strategy to facilitate flawless power supply in Dubai
Al Masaood Power Division has unveiled the first-of-its-kind locally produced mobile Electric Power Generator solution with MTU diesel genset for emergencies in the UAE during its participation at WETEX 2019, which is running till 23 October at Dubai World Trade Centre. Presented as one of the most reliable mobile electricity generators, specifically tailor-made for the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the new solution is set to provide immediate power supply to fit the demands of any emergency, on- or off-road.
Al Masaood electric power generation truck incorporates a world-class MTU Diesel Generator 20V4000 DS2750, and will provide a baseload bridge to permanent power installations or to backup power in the wake of any emergency, plant shutdowns, or grid instability in the city and in isolated locations as well.
Commenting on this innovative solution, Rasso Bartenschlager, General Manager, Al Masaood Power Division, said “We are proud to collaborate with DEWA on developing this new UAE-made solution. The solution was engineered in response to Authority’s proactive long-term strategy to generate flawless power supply and consumption in Dubai, and to support its overall vision for a sustainable future for the Emirate. The new diesel generator uses world-class MTU technology that is characterized with low fuel consumption, high reliability and availability of power, in addition to long maintenance intervals. Furthermore, with the all-terrain agility of this solution DEWA will be able to supply electrical power wherever needed.”
Capable of producing up to 2500 kVA of prime power, sufficient to light up over 120 households on average at once, and mounted on a 5-axles of 10X8 truck, Al Masaood’s latest emergency generator is currently the biggest transportable generator ever produced in the UAE and is projected to become an essential aspect in future industries, urban areas and residential complexes.
Moreover, the truck on which the MTU Diesel generator is mounted features a half-axle suspension system, that makes it stable on all terrains, and absorbs vibrations in order to offer protection to the generator and increased comfort for the driver and operators. This in turn can ensure faster power recovery for consumers wherever they may be; saving them valuable time and cost, and contributes to improving their safety and lifestyle, as well as to limiting capital and operating expenditures of DEWA.
“This new emergency generator marks yet another significant achievement for Al Masaood Power Division and further cements our long-established lead within the power industry. Our decades-long expertise and commitment in power generation systems has enabled us to successfully provide some of the most efficient and effective solutions to our valued customers and consumers, thanks to Al Masaood dedicated and competent team and our collaboration with MTU, one of the leading worldwide suppliers of decentralized energy systems based on diesel-and gas-engines, and our highly qualified and selected suppliers have been instrumental factors in this success,” added Bartenschlager.
